Troop 77 - "Athletics" Campout 2001

When: Friday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 8, 2001
Where: Colorado Bend State Park, near Bend, Texas
What: Athletics, Fishing, Kayaking, Swimming, and work on advancement requirements
Cost: $7 per person.  Park entry fees and campsite fees are paid by Troop (reservations #'s 2005185 & 7)
Facilities: Two drive-up campsites are reserved.  Picnic table, privy, water, fire ring, boat launch, and open cold water shower are available.
Patrols: Buddy up for tents.  Patrols may use Patrol or buddy system for cooking.  Steaks anyone?  Bring your own stoves.
Activities:

This park is on the Colorado River and upper end of Lake Buchanan.  The fishing is excellent here.  Large open areas adjacent to campsites are excellent for athletics.  Kayaking and swimming are good.

 Route: From Lago Vista, west on FM 1431 to Marble Falls, north on US 281 to Lampasas, west on FM 580 across river into Bend, follow signs to Colorado Bend State Park.  Estimated driving time to campsite is 2 hours.
